Stella Peters is a student at Georgetown University studying Government, Environmental Studies, Italian and Sustainable Business. She previously studied Political Science at the Università di Bologna, while also completing a portfolio in Oil Painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. She is an avid painter, singer-songwriter, photographer, writer and surfer, hailing from Southern California and Utah.
Professionally, Stella serves as a Junior Associate at Phocus Creative Group, where she focuses on marketing, events, and PR for businesses in the climate space. She is also a Program Assistant for the Earth Commons Institute at Georgetown University.
Stella’s passion for agroecology, seed science, bioengineering and environmental justice is reflected in her academic and hands-on experiences. She has engaged in research and field work at Ellwood Canyon Ranch in Goleta, CA, completed a regenerative agriculture certification program in Tuscany through Climate Farm School, and honed her community activism leadership skills through training with The Citizens Climate Lobby. Additionally, Stella founded, published & directed Folding Chair Magazine, a social justice publication, which represents her general interest in using storytelling, interviews, and photojournalism to promote alternative farming methods, rewilding practices, biomaterial engineering and food-system reform. Stella seeks to combine art and science to explore, promote and highlights avenues for sustainable change in our society at the grassroot and macro levels.
